COMMENTS - Blade Etched "RKSA 461 / 218"
This is the first Randall Knife Society Special Series Knife. They began shipping in 1991 and a total of 1,000 were made. They were made with black micarta and stag handles, 436 were black micarta and 564 were stag. The first number in the blade etching is the serial number of the knife, the second number is the RKS member's membership number.

RKSA CLUB KNIFE
Yes! A RKSA club knife is being made and is available to you the RKSA member. When? The first knives will be shipped in August of 1991. Yes, that's right. Next August. So we got to get it moving so Gary Randall can get the knives scheduled for production.
Your knife orders will be taken in order of membership number if you get your order in by January 15, 1991. If you don't get your order in by this date you can still order your knife but you could delay getting your knife as much as a year or more. You members with high membership numbers need to get your orders in by January 15, 1991 also since I need to know how many to order. Your prompt order is also important because your delivery date will be earlier if you order on time. You will get ahead of those people with lower numbers that don't get their orders in on time.
Now, as to what the knife is going to be. You can see from the picture on the facing, this is a great knife and worthy of anyone's collection. The photography for these knives was provided at no charge by Jim Weyer of Weyer International. The design is one of Gary Randall's special efforts and is being offered here for the first time ever to you the RKSA member. This is a new forging and has never been made by the Randall shop before. The top edge of the knife is sharp also almost back to the logo.
Description of the knife is as follows:
RKSA SPECIAL FIGHTER 5 INCH BLADE OF O1 SWEDISH TOOL STEEL
Brass and Blue Spacers with Brass Double Hilt
Black Micarta Concave Handle or Stag Handle
Smooth Coolie Cap Butt or on Stag a Thin Brass Plate for Butt
Black Model A Sheath or Brown Model A Sheath for Stag Knife
Etched on Reverse side: RKSA Serial # / Member #
Price: $290 postage paid
Florida residents add 7% sales tax = $20.30
You may order either knife or both. Yes, you may order both knives. But you will receive only one knife until every member receives their first knife and then you will receive your second knife if you order two. This is the only fair way I can think to do this since it would not be fair for high number members to prolong their knife delivery while lower numbers are getting two knives. You must send $50 deposit per knife by January 15, 1991 to reserve your knife. You must also bring your dues up to date at the time of your deposit. Look at the bottom of your mailing label to see when your dues are due. 1/91 would mean that your dues are due January 1, 1991 and a 1990 date would mean that your dues are past due.
The Randall shop will start delivery of these knives to me August 1, 1991 at a rate of about 50 to 100 knives per month. So as you can see it will take a while to get these to you depending on how many are ordered. I, Rhett Stidham, will be shipping these knives to you so don't call Gary Randall or Pete at the shop wanting to know when your knife will be ready. They won't have the answer for you since I will have all the paper work.
You need to pay particular attention to your order form especially if you order two knives. Mark your choice for first delivery and second delivery. A space is provided.
Fellows, get your orders in as soon as possible. You are getting first shot at these knives. A national membership drive advertisement will be placed in a prominent knife magazine on this knife and if my expectations are right these knives are going to be in demand.
