One of the most elusive Loveless fighting knife designs to find and also one of the largest, the Battle Knife was considered by Loveless to be the ultimate combat knife - a large, full-size knife that was stout enough to do heavy utility chores and use to fight in hand to hand combat. Even though it is a beautiful design, it was a difficult knife to make and less than ten are said to exist.
Allowed to study original Loveless patterns and techniques by Loveless' knife making partner, Jim Merritt, David Sharp has emerged as one of the top Loveless design makers in the world. Perfectly, deep hollow hand-ground of .260" thick PM-154 stainless steel, the David Sharp produced Battle Knife is an impressive beast. The mirror polished 7.5" blade, wide lugged guard and tapered tang all flow together in a masterful combination of radiused edges, compound curves, and sleek design.
The handle is full-sized and wears a spectacular set of stabilized maple burl that perfectly matches the tone of the handsewn and crafted leather sheath.
