The Wilson Combat Tighe fighters that Brian is making for us are among the smoothest folders you will ever handle. The open frame, button lock construction is fast in operation but very strong.
For this custom Alliance Brian chose Thor patterned, Swedish stainless Damasteel with a compound grind drop point blade and rare zirconium alloy handle sculpted with our exclusive Starburst pattern. These knives are slicker than greased glass! The heavy blades combined with the button lock with ceramic detent and sealed thrust bearing pivot have unparalleled opening speed.
Zirconium alloy is rarely used in knifemaking as it is much rarer than Titanium. Zirconium is light weight and heat resistant.it is often used as an alloying agent in materials that are exposed to aggressive environments, such as nuclear reactor parts, surgical appliances, and light filaments.
The pocket clip is machined Titanium with ceramic ball retention for a practical, high-tech touch.
Because of the beauty of the deeply etched pattern we have opted not to engrave the blades with our custom alliance logo. To identify these unique Wilson Custom Alliance knives in the future we are supplying a personalized dog tag with the serial number and other pertinent information.
